I Got A Tattoo!

 Tattoo Time!

Hey everyone! I got a new tattoo the other day (February 21). I got it before I went to the Paradise Fears concert in Dallas that I talked about in my last blog post. I got my tattoo at Tigger's Body Art, it's across the street from The Prophet Bar. I went with my friend, Jamie, who also got a tattoo. My artist was Jake, who was super nice and really helpful (even though I was being somewhat difficult with the design/size/placement). Their prices aren't outrageous either, which is always a plus.

Tattoo meaning: The feather is representative of an angel wing. It's for all of the relatives and friends that I have lost. It's definitely a tattoo that has a lot of meaning to me.

If I am ever back in Dallas, I will definitely be going back to Tigger's.

Paradise Fears Battle Scars Acoustic & In the Round Tour Review | February 20-21, 2014

Sunday, February 23, 2014

Sam Miller (lead singer) and Michael Walker (keyboard)
Paradise Fears Battle Scars Acoustic & In the Round Tour

Shows I went to:
Houston- 2/20 at House of Blues in the Bronze Peacock
Dallas- 2/21 at The Prophet Bar in The Door

I've been a fan of Paradise Fears for over 2 years now and this tour has been unlike any other that I have been to. You can tell a lot of thought was put into how the show would be laid out. The stage is set in the middle of the room with the crowd surrounding it. You are then encouraged to get as close to the stage as possible, but being mindful and courteous to the bands on stage. (So no grabbing/pulling the band members... *winks*) This is certainly different than any other tour they've done. Usually there are barricades and space between the crowd and the stage (for protection, of course). I really loved how intimate the Houston show was. We were the smallest crowd of the tour so far, but it was really nice.

The Prophet Bar in Dallas, TX (Taken with my iPhone)
For the Houston show, I was lucky enough to be right up against the stage between Jordan Merrigan (guitar) and Cole Andre (vocals/guitar). I was able to get some really nice pictures (Check them out!). The venue was somewhat large, but because of the small crowd, it looked ginormous. This was good for the post-show meet and greet as there as a lot of room to move around/spread out. The Prophet Bar in Dallas was incredibly small and the layout was not very well thought out. The show was held in the smaller room (The Door). For this show, I wasn't in the crowd. I was mainly hanging out at the merch table with my friend and then I went to the crowd to try to take some nice pictures, although the lighting was terrible and I wasn't able to get any (*sad face*). Another thing that's different than any other tour Paradise Fears has done is that they pull up one lucky fan to sing with Sam to the song Yours Truly. I know other bands have done this (or just pulled someone on stage and sang to them), but Paradise Fears hasn't ever done that before. I don't think it would have gone as well if the tour hadn't been set up like it was.

Marcus Sands (bass)
The highlight of the tour for me was when Paradise Fears covered 'Hallelujah' because four out of six of the members sang. Sam and Cole obviously sang, Michael also sang during the song, and then Sam gave Jordan the mic and oh my goodness. I have never heard Jordan sing with as much passion as he did during this song. It was easily my favorite part of the entire show. I get chills just thinking about it.

Overall, the show is fantastic and definitely worth the $25 ticket price. If you live in Arizona, they will be playing at the Nile Underground in Mesa today (February 23). Y'all should definitely go check them out if you can.

Rest of the tour dates:
February 23 // Nile Underground // Mesa, AZ
February 25 // Chain Reaction // Anaheim, CA
February 26 // Assembly // Sacramento, CA
February 27 // Kilby Court // Salt Lake City, UT

Sneak Preview of My Apartment

The lake I live on.
 My Apartment!

I moved into my apartment in August 2013, right before I started my sophomore year of college. I only recently got the decorations and organization up to par with what I have dreamed up. I still have some things I want to do to better organize and decorate my space, but right now, I like how it has turned out.

Here's a couple of pictures on what I have done so far.
Personal artwork above my couch.
Kitchen counter.
Table top decor
Bathroom counter decor/organization
Top of dresser. (Left to Right: iHome, Twisted Peppermint Room Spray, Coca-Cola piggy bank, College piggy bank, Dear You stickers, paper, pen, and my Memory jar)
My vanity table.
My bedside table (The 'flowers' in the vase are ones that my nieces made from coloring coffee filters)
Hope y'all enjoyed getting a sneak peek into my apartment. Let me know in the comments how you would decorate your apartment.

Date Night: Outfit, Makeup, and Hair

Date Night!

Hey everyone! So tonight (2/6/2014), I went on my first date! I know, I know, 20 years old and I have never been on a date... I've just never been asked. *blushes*
So I figured since this was my first date, I would create a blog post about what I wore and how I did my makeup and hair.

So let's get started...

These are the products that I used

Foundation: Maybelline Fit Me 110
Powder: Cover Girl Loose Powder in 105 Translucent Fair
Blush: Revlon Powder Blush in 1707-13 Love That Pink
Eyeshadow: Cover Girl Palette (The name rubbed off)
Eye Primer: Elf Eyelid Primer
Eye Liner: Avon Ultra Luxury Eye Liner in U01 Black
Elf Waterproof Eye Liner Pen in Black
Mascara: Maybelline Lash Blast Volume
Eyelash Curler: From Walmart

These are pretty much the products that I use every day. I don't really switch up my eye shadow color. (I need to work on that.) I'm really comfortable with the neutral shades, but I'm going to start using more colors (hopefully) soon. The only extra thing that I did for tonight, that I don't usually do, is the winged eye liner. I used my Elf Waterproof Liquid Liner Pen to get the wing. Although my wing didn't turn out as well as I had hoped it would. I just need a little bit more practice. :)

Close up of how I did my makeup.
For my hair, all I did was put it in a half up-half down style. I washed my hair the night before and blow dried it straight (although the ends and back weren't totally straight). I then left my hair in a braid over night (that's where the curls came from).

Outfit:
Dress: From Target
Tights: H&M (I got these in London when I visited in Winter 2013)
Socks: Target
Shoes: either Kohl's or Target. I can't remember.
Jacket: Kohl's
Hope y'all enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments if you like the outfit or how you would have done your makeup. I'm always open to new ideas. :)

Thoughts.

Repost from http://born-to-ramble.tumblr.com/post/49237045401/thoughts

This was posted on April 29th, 2013.

I have thoughts running through my head & I don’t know how to make them stop.
Will my insecurities ever go away? Will I ever be truly happy again?

Have you ever looked back and thought of what has happened in just a year? This time last year I was getting ready to graduate high school. I remember thinking that I had no idea how I survived. I didn’t have many friends in high school. I remember having tons of friends in elementary school and they gradually left once I went to middle school, then junior high, and finally high school. Now I’m a freshman in college and I can count my friends on one hand. I don’t think anyone understands how it feels to lose everyone. People I thought were my friends were only pretending. They didn’t actually care about me, they probably just felt bad. I understand that people lose friends going into high school because everyone is finding out who they are. But once you lose everyone, it makes it seem like something is wrong with you.

New Year, New Me

January 1, 2014 – 2:32am

I know everyone says this, but I’m actually going to reinvent myself this year. I’ve already begun by not putting myself down and trying to be happier. This is my life and I want to live it as fully as I can. I’m 20 now; I’m no longer a teen. This means I need to be responsible and grown up. I’m turning a new leaf as this year begins.

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014

Repost from http://born-to-ramble.tumblr.com/post/71788124171/goodbye-2013-hello-2014

2013 has been such a crazy year for me. I’ve got closer to my friends, lost some people, got hurt, met new friends, and traveled to over 25 states. Like with every year, there were lows, but the highs definitely outweighed them.

January:
  • Rang in the New Year in London.
  • Went to Harry Potter Studios in London
  • Went to the Houston and Austin shows of the Resolution Tour (Jan 19-20)
  • Hello Highway house party in Houston. Met Fourth and Coast for the first time :P (Jan 19)

First post

Hey everyone! Welcome to my blog! It is currently 2:30am and I am sitting at the desk at one of the dorm's on campus. (I work as a Desk Assistant.) I wanted to create this blog because it is connected to my Google+ and YouTube channel.
